My 1st Birchbox - Review

I've been thinking about subscribing to Birchbox for soooo long now and finally a couple of weeks back I decided that I'd give it a go. The box costs £10 per month and the p&p is £2.95, so it comes to a total of £12.95 which I thought was fairly reasonable considering that you are guaranteed a Benefit product.

So, my Birchbox arrived Wednesday of this week, When I opened it my first impression, I must admit, were a bit mixed. I thought the box would be bigger as I had already planned on using it for storage. I was also a little disappointed as I'd seen loads of people had received 'Dew the Hola' as their Benefit product, which I really wanted and unfortunately didn't get and my Cynthia Rowley eyeliner was broken :( (I have been in contact with Birchbox they are kindly sending me out another one as I type this post).

I have used almost all the products now, bar the eyeliner, and can say that I am really happy with all the products. Here's my box...

I absolutely love the box desgin, birchbox offered the box in two designs, they were both so pretty but I decided that this was my fave of the two. You get 5 products in total that are selected for you when you complete your profile on their website. They even provide you with a super handy booklet of what the products are, how to use them and even the RRP price....

My first item was the Benefit BAD gal lash mascara, I don't believe that it is waterproof, at least it doesn't state anywhere on the packaging. I typically tend to wear waterproof mascara and my typical 'go to' mascara has been the Maybelline Falsie's mascara which I absolutely love, but this mascara has been great. I've used it for the past three days now, it sweeps on to your lashes beautifully and doesn't clump at all, it's great for bottom lashes too which I often struggle to do...

My second item/items were the Beaver Professional Hydro Nutritive Series Shampoo & the Hydro Nutritive Repairing Conditioner, I have used these products once, both together. My hair felt soooo soft, like baby hair. I am very tempted to purchase full size bottles of these! The smell is very subtle but a pleasant smell all the same...

My third item was the Cynthia Rowley eyeliner in black. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use this as it was broken when I pulled the lid off, Birchbox have a replacement on the way, thanks Birchnox...

My fourth item was the Absolution L'Eau Soir et Matin and this is a purifying cleansing water to help remove makeup. I have used this twice now and it really does make light work of removing my makeup particularly mascara, although I'm not sure what it would be like at removing waterproof mascara. I like this product but I have been using the Garnier Micellar products a lot recently and I think they are fantastic, my skin loves them, particularly the oil infused one so probably wouldn't buy a full size bottle of this ....

My fifth and final product is the Kueshi Foot Cream, I love the smell of this product, which is predominantly tea tree oil. I have used this twice before bed. I found that quite recently that the skin on my feet has been really dry, particularly my heels and the balls of my feet. I've used this product twice at night before bed and definitely thought that my feet felt a lot softer in the morning.....

BONUS GIFT!!

Birchbox were giving these cute little rose gold bangles away too when you entered the code 'BANGLE' at the checkout, so I thought 'I'll have me one of those!'. I'm not sure whether all the bangles were the same but as you can see above mine states 'live, laugh love' which is a quote we all need to be reminded of every day!!!

Hi Guys

Hello there everyone, welcome to my brand spanking new blog. I have never blogged before so I hope you all enjoy what I have to share and that you are happy to watch me grow as I get the hang of this.

The reason I started this was that my best friend since 3rd year in High School told me she had started posting video's on YouTube so I started to become more intrigued by the YouTube/Vlogging/Blogging world which got me a little bit obsessed with it all, I love to watch my friends channel grow and people being genuinely interested in what she has to share. I thought I had to check this out for myself as I have so many things stored up inside my head that I would love to share with you all e.g reviews of products, opinions on new trends, my travels, photos I have taken... to be honest I'm not entirely sure what kind of direction I will be taking this in.

Anyway....My name is Samantha (but everyone calls me Sam) I'm from the UK, up north. By day I work at a firm of Solicitors in their RTA department, which can be a little crazy sometimes. I am currently studying Floristry at the local college which I have been doing since early December (hence the name for my blog) I absolutely love it and can't wait to find my feet in the floral industry and work on people's special days and put a smile on to people faces. I am the owner of the cutest little Chihuahua named Lissie and I'm sure she will appear on the blog sometime very soon. I love to travel, this year my twin sister, Amanda and I are attempting to plan a big 'blow out' holiday to California as she is planning on having babies next year so she won't be able to do anything like this for a long time, if at all afterwards, so stay tuned for updates on that.

To finish off this post I truly hope you enjoy reading my posts and if you have any comments, even if it's constructive criticism, that is completely fine! we all have to start somewhere. Enjoy the blog!!
